Crescendo Music Level Test
General Information
Music schools in Switzerland provide students with the opportunity to develop according to their individual abilities. For this reason, exams and grades are not part of the curriculum. Education in music schools is individualized, often consisting of private lessons or instruction in small groups. This approach allows for personalized attention to each student and the selection of an individual learning pace.
Over the past five years, the Swiss Music School has grown to a high professional level. In our piano department alone, we have over 50 students. To encourage motivation and professional growth, we have created several concert projects in which our students can demonstrate their skills.
We are proud of our teachers and the level of musical education our students achieve.
We strive for transparent evaluation of our students' achievements and continuous quality development. In addition to qualitative indicators such as student satisfaction (years of class attendance) and success in student concerts (learning progress), an important aspect of quality control is open testing.
Level Determination and Quality Development
As part of the development of the quality of musical education at the Swiss Music School, the Crescendo Testing Program for piano students will begin in the 2024/25 academic year. This program aims to determine the level of musical progress of students and the pedagogical success of the teachers. The level tests are voluntary, and every student has the right to participate. The tests are held annually for piano students and will later be extended to other departments of the school. Experts from the Swiss Music School, as well as from other schools, evaluate the knowledge and skills of the students.
